JumpTV made it official today that they would not fall into the Live Universe Entertainment Network fold. Live Universe was founded by Brad Greenspan, the web entrepreneur who claimed to be the founder of Myspace. Since NewsCorp’s acquisition of Myspace’s parent company, Intermix, Greenspan has kept himself busy launching new sites and acquiring highly trafficked video sharing portals such as Flurl and Revver.
However Live Universe has one of the worst reputations by industry insiders, I’ve actually never spoke to an individual who had a positive experience with them. With this knowledge it is very clear that JumpTV wanted nothing to do with them and decided to merge with NeuLion instead. As a longtime fan of JumpTV I’m very happy to hear that they made this decision. JumpTV put it well when they said,
“Mr. Greenspan’s proposal was not in the best interests of the Company,”
