The chumby makes keeping up with friends easier than ever with the addition of content from some of the Internet’s leading social utilities, delivering them in a friendly, always-on, always-fresh format. Chumby is adding content and rich capabilities from Facebook and Twitter to features already available from dozens of leading sites.
“Social networking is about keeping people connected, and knowing in real-time what friends and family are up to,” said Stephen Tomlin, CEO of chumby. “Chumby just extends another layer of connectivity from sites like Facebook and Twitter. Because chumby is always on and the content is available at a glance, users can remain constantly updated on the activities of everyone in their social networks.”
Chumby’s integration with Facebook allows users to access and update their status, find out what’s new with their friends, and stay up-to-date on the latest photos posted by their Facebook friends – all without having to log in to a computer.
Chumby users can access their Twitter profiles, tweets from other users, and publish their own updates. They can also display recent tweets that contain customized search terms via Twitter Search.
“Twitter was founded on the idea that short, real-time updates can keep the world connected across many different devices,” said Biz Stone, co-founder, Twitter. “Chumby offers a perfect window on the trends, conversations, and news flowing through Twitter every second.”
