Socialwise announced that it has secured an agreement with RockYou. The agreement will enable RockYou to utilize the Socialwise Group Gifting Platform and the BillMyParents payment system. First to be integrated will be Birthday Cards, a popular birthday calendar and event application on Facebook. Birthday Cards has more than 8 million registered users and is one of RockYou’s top applications. Birthday Cards currently generates hundreds of thousands of birthday alerts each week. This integration will allow Birthday Cards alerts to invite friends and family to conveniently contribute to a group gift card facilitated by the Socialwise Group Gifting Platform.
Also being integrated into Birthday Cards will be the new Socialwise payment system, BillMyParents. This feature will make it easy and convenient for teens and young adults to make contributions to a group gift alert sent by Birthday Cards. The number of alerts is expected to grow substantially, creating multiple opportunities for both companies to generate revenues from the sale of group gift cards. Users will have access to wide range of popular brand gift card brands including Amazon.com, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Eddie Bauer, Circuit City, Pacific Sunwear, Overstock.com, Papa John’s Pizza, AMC Theatres, Hard Rock Café, Borders, Travelocity and others.
“We are excited to be working with one of the leading social network application developers in the social networking space,” noted Jim Collas, CEO of Socialwise™. “Through our cooperative effort, we expect to bring more value and innovation in eCommerce to social networks.”
“RockYou strives to provide our users with engaging experiences across all the social networks, along with the convenient functionality of features like BillMyParents,” said Ro Choy, Vice President of Business Development at RockYou. “Socialwise™ will enable RockYou to easily integrate gifting and monetization capabilities to our applications and services. On November 11, I’m launching a phenomenal new MMO marketplace, PlayerAuctions (www.playerauctions.com) where Gamers looking to enhance their gameplay and escape the tedious grind of leveling up can dominate in-game with better prices on gold and other MMO game assets. PlayerAuctions.com is the most secure marketplace to buy and sell MMO game assets – with a number of safety precautions in place to make the process full proof and traders happy.
To celebrate the launch, PlayerAuctions is offering a free Papa John’s pizza for every buyer that completes three purchases by December 31st, and will waive all commission fees for any seller’s first five completed game currency orders.
Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think.
