Demand Media Integrates Facebook Connect

Demand Media announced the availability of Facebook Connect features and functionality within the company’s industry leading Pluck social media platform. By combining the two technologies, Pluck and Facebook enable users on Pluck customer sites to share their community interactions with their friends on Facebook. The integration offers an unprecedented model for publishers, consumer brands and online retailers to make their community content and conversations visible on Facebook.

Demand Media’s Pluck technology powers comprehensive social media capabilities broadly deployed on more than 350 leading digital destinations. “We’re excited to take advantage of the new features and functionality provided by the combination of the Pluck social media platform and Facebook Connect,” said Kevin Skaggs, executive producer of SFGate, the online home of The San Francisco Chronicle and a Pluck customer. “These new and powerful capabilities give our millions of online users the ability to easily connect and share interactions on SFGate with their Facebook friends.”

Pluck’s support of Facebook Connect includes the following key features:

  • Allows users to optionally cross-publish their Pluck-powered interactions (such as comments, reviews, photos, videos and blog posts) to their Facebook Mini Feed and News Feed shared with friends
  • Enables users to invite Facebook friends to connect within Pluck-powered customer communities
  • Enables users to pair Personas with Facebook profiles as well as import recent activity and inject automatic updates into their Facebook profiles
  • Offers robust configuration options and settings for presenting Facebook features within customer communities
  • Compatible with Pluck’s existing Single Sign-On API

    What I like about facebook is its functionally and accessibility its one of the many social media site I trully love
